PURAC Sanilac from Corbion provides a safe, yet potent disinfecting alternative to traditional biocides that is non-toxic to humans and natural ecosystems.

In fact, PURAC Sanilac is not a biocide and (aside from some biocidal properties at higher concentrations) is not comparable to traditional biocides such as quaternary ammonium compounds and triclosan. It does, however, provide superior dual-action performance as a highly effective antibacterial and a proven antiviral disinfectant.

Outstanding compatibility with detergent ingredients

Many commonly used detergent ingredients (surfactants and alcohols) work in a complementary fashion with PURAC Sanilac, boosting its antimicrobial performance significantly. This ability to function in harmony with other ingredients makes it possible for our solution to produce a powerful, sanitizing bactericidal agent at low concentrations.

Registration and environmental profile

In the United States, PURAC Sanilac is registered as an active with the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) under Federal Insecticide, Fungicide, and Rodenticide Act (FIFRA) and is also approved for the Design for the Environment (DfE) pilot program.

In Europe, PURAC Sanilac is notified under the Biocidal Products Regulation (EU) No. 528/2012 for the following product types: PT 1, PT 2, PT 3, PT 4.

In Sweden, PURAC Sanilac is also registered as a preservative for detergents at the Bra Miljöval, the Swedish ecolabel.

PURAC Sanilac has a Generally Regarded As Safe (GRAS) status. It does not sensitize skin.

Antivirus efficacy

The antivirus efficacy of PURAC Sanilac has been proven in EN 14476 testing.
