ESTERLAC Emulsifiers & Surfactants

ESTERLAC is a range of natural emulsifiers and surfactants which are mild, multi-functional, and safe. They bring many unique features in o/w and w/o emulsions as well as rinse-off applications. 

Skin care

ESTERLAC™ emulsifers are very substantive to proteins and starches. They improve the moisturization and skin conditioning properties of formulations. Moisturizing ingredients can penetrate into the skin more easily in the presence of ESTERLAC™ emulsifiers. On the skin, these ingredients provide a light, silky, soft feel, both in leave-on and rinse-off formulations. Furthermore, the ESTERLAC™ emulsifiers have a very low skin irritation: they are dermatologically innocuous and non-irritating to eyes.

Rinse-off

In bar soaps, shampoos, and body washes, ESTERLAC™ SLL acts like a foam booster and mild surfactant, delivering significantly improved foam volume and richness vs. formulations without ESTERLAC™.

Hair care

Substantive to proteins, ESTERLAC™ provides excellent hair conditioning effects. This is especially observed for ESTERLAC™ CARE+. This ingredient adsorbs to damaged hair and helps to retain moisture in skin and hair. When applied in hair care products like shampoos and conditioners, the user will experience smooth and soft hair. ESTERLAC™ emulsifiers can also be used to thicken shampoos as a Cocamide MEA replacement.

Moisturization

Related to hydration solutions, we offer several products with different moisturization benefits. PURASAL^® NH/COS is particularly efficient for very dry skin and helps to restore damaged or very dry skin to a healthy condition. PURASAL^® MOISTXS offers clinically proven moisturization for the skin up to 24 hours for leave on applications like lotions and crèmes.

Anti-aging solutions for skin care products

When it comes to anti-aging solutions our family of L-lactic acids are proven to have a lower irritation potential and a higher therapeutic index (efficacy vs. potential irritation) than synthetic lactic acid and glycolic acid.

Alpha Hydroxy Acids (AHAs) are well-known for their moisturizing, exfoliation, cell-renewal, and anti-wrinkle properties: L-lactic acid is known as ‘nature’s AHA’ for good reason: It’s simply more effective. To read more about our anti-aging solutions, click here.

Skin lightening

PURASAL S/HQ60 not only improves skin moisture but is clinically proven to lighten skin - both as a single active ingredient and in combination with other benchmark skin lightening ingredients. By inhibiting tyrosinase activity, our PURAC^® UltraPure visibly lightens skin thanks to its exfoliating properties, which stimulate cell renewal.

Calcium lactate like our PURACAL^® PP is proven to have anti-tartar properties in oral products. This highly soluble calcium salt is an excellent source of calcium; meanwhile our mild-tasting PURAMEX^® ZN offers an ideal way to add zinc salts to oral care products and help prevent oral malodor and gingivitis.

Natural pH adjustment

Natural L-lactic acid is ideal for adjusting the pH in many formulations, including those certified with the ECOCERT standard. Our PURAC^® HiPure 90 and PURAC^® BF P/41 are biobased raw materials approved by ECOCERT GREENLIFE. They conform to the ECOCERT Natural and Organic Cosmetics Standard, as well as the COSMOS standard.
