We, the Corbion group entity for which you apply (click here for an overview), are the controller of your personal data and through this notice we wish to tell you how we use the information you submit when you apply for a job or create a profile in our recruitment platform.
As part of your job application and Corbion' s evaluation of your candidacy we ask you to provide us with some personal information. Corbion collects, receives, maintains, and uses personal identifiers, pre-hire information and education information during the job application and recruitment process.
All information is provided to us on a voluntary basis. If you become employed by Corbion, we will notify you of additional categories of personal information that it collects, receives, and maintains for business purposes.
Information provided may be shared internally and externally, for the purpose of recruitment and hiring, with Corbion's human resources and IT teams, hiring managers, interview teams, background check vendor and/or occupational health clinics or professionals.
When you apply for a vacancy at Corbion, we collect information about you ("Applicant Data") which is relevant to assess your application and manage the recruitment process, such as:
Corbion may also collect and process additional information you provide us in your resume, during interviews or in assessments. In the event we contact references, we process the information these references provide to us.
If you apply via our website, we also process your Corbion Account details, your username and password, country of residence and your preferences regarding whether you would like to be notified of future vacancies.
In addition, Corbion may collect, process, and use Applicant Data that may be considered sensitive personal information under applicable privacy laws (“Sensitive Applicant Data”) including (i) health data such as drug test and fitness test results (ii) background check results (ii) number or copy of your social security or other tax identification document, driver's license, passport, work permit, visa or state or federal identification and (iv) your gender, ethnicity and/or race.
Corbion only uses and discloses Sensitive Applicant Data as necessary to effectuate the potential employment relationship and obligations, to comply with federal, state, or local laws, and otherwise as permitted by applicable local privacy laws.
We generally receive your information directly from you. We may receive information from third parties that assist with recruitment and with other (pre-)employment-related purposes as further described below. These third parties include service providers such as recruitment agencies.

Corbion will process Applicant Data, including Sensitive Applicant Data (as defined under applicable privacy laws), for the following recruitment-related business purposes ("Processing Purposes"):
We use information you supply in support of your application and other information we collect in connection with processing your application so that we can consider your application, assess your suitability, conduct eligibility checks and for equal employment opportunities purposes. We use your data for the purpose of managing our recruitment process and so that we can take steps at your request prior to entering into a contract.
If a position that is, or may be, of interest to you requires background checks, we will tell you about this and limit such background check to what is necessary for the role to which you have applied. Where necessary, we will also use this data for the purpose of our legitimate interests in accessing appropriate professional advice and in order to ensure we comply with legal obligations to which our business is subject.
When you apply for a position with us or submit information in support of your application, we will tell you whether the information we are requesting is essential so that we can proceed with your application or whether the supply of this information is optional. If you are not able to provide us with information we consider essential, we may not be able to proceed with your application.
Additionally, your information may be processed for other purposes to which you have consented, such as sending you information about relevant vacancies (Job Alerts) as indicated through the Corbion account you created.
Please note that Corbion does not use Applicant Data for commercial purposes (i.e., to advance Corbion's economic interests through marketing or monetization). Additionally, Corbion does not engage in the sale (as defined under applicable privacy laws) of Applicant Data.
We do not sell your Applicant Data or share it for cross-context behavioural advertising. We do not engage in providing financial incentives for the disclosure of Applicant Data.
You will be asked to create a profile in our recruitment platform when applying for a vacancy. We usually retain information supplied by job applicants with respect to a particular vacancy as long as legally required or needed for a legal or business purpose following a relevant recruitment decision unless you give us permission to retain your details for longer to be considered for other vacancies or if we are required to retain your data for longer periods based on applicable local laws. Please contact us to learn the applicable retention period in your country.
You may also create a profile without applying to a particular vacancy. In this case, we will keep your personal information for 1 (one) year of inactivity in our recruitment platform (i.e. from the date of the last log-in to your account) unless local laws require a shorter or longer retention period.
If your application is successful, relevant information will be used for the purpose of administrating your subsequent employment and will be retained and used in accordance with our Corbion Employee Privacy Policy (a copy of which will be provided when you take up your employment).
Where necessary so that we can manage our recruitment process, we will share your information with relevant Corbion group entities (and their employees, on a need-to-know basis), our service providers (such as SuccessFactors) and professional advisers (e.g. recruitment agencies, providers who carry out background checks on our behalf, and, if applicable to the role you are applying for, suppliers who run candidate assessment programs for us).
We will also contact third parties whose details you have supplied so that we can verify information you have supplied in relation to your previous employment and qualifications.
You should expect that Corbion will transfer your Applicant Data to third parties as follows:
Some of the information you send us in support of your job application may be shared with other Corbion group entities or service providers located outside of the country of the Corbion group entity to which you are applying, including outside of the European Economic Area ("EEA"). These countries may include, among others, countries in which we have operations (read more here) and countries where our service providers are located or have data centers, such as the United States.
We will ensure that your personal data will be protected according to at least the same standards of protection as provided in the country of the Corbion group entity to which you are applying. To secure the transfer of your data, we rely on various additional data protection measures, including appropriate contractual arrangements. If required by applicable law, we will also conduct a security impact assessment prior to the transfer. Additional rights may apply to you depending on your location. Specific rights may not apply to a specific situation. For example, it will not be possible for us to delete your data if we are required by law to keep it or if we hold it in connection with a contract with you. Similarly, access to your data may be refused if making the information available would reveal personal information about another person or if we are legally prevented from disclosing such information.
Depending on your jurisdiction, you may have the right to designate an authorized agent to make a request on your behalf. An authorized agent must provide appropriate documentation including written signed permission from you, proof of your identity, and verification of their identity; or a valid, designated power of attorney as defined under applicable local laws.
